On this private safari, you will visit Tarangire National Park, home to the largest elephant population in Tanzania and whose landscape is characterized by ancient majestic baobab trees. On a game drive in the “largest zoo in the world”, the Ngorongoro Crater, you will look out for the Big Five (elephant, rhino, lion, leopard, and buffalo). And you will visit the Manyara National Park, which some consider the most beautiful garden in Africa. With a bit of luck, you will have the opportunity to photograph lions resting in the trees. A peculiarity of the lions is only in this park.

Unique African landscapes, UNESCO World Heritage Site in the largest zoo in the world and perhaps the most beautiful garden in Africa
Tarangire is Tanzania’s fifth-largest national park on the edge of the Great Rift Valley. The landscape consists of low hills with sparse acacia forests, huge baobab trees, and savannah grasslands. The Tarangire River is the main water source of the park and is ideal for wildlife viewing of all kinds. Herds of wildebeest, buffalo, elephant, zebra, giraffe, hippos, and many antelopes are waiting to be photographed by you. With a little luck and good eyes, you might even get the well-camouflaged leopard in front of your lens.
After you arrive at Kilimanjaro or Arusha National Airport we will introduce you to your safari guide and then we are ready to go. The journey to Tarangire takes about 2 hours via well-developed roads through the Maasai area and several smaller villages.
Game drive for the rest of the day. At lunchtime, we will head for a picnic area so that you can fortify yourself from your packed lunch. But don’t let the cute monkeys steal your food while you admire the impressive landscape.
Early evening arrival at Kankari Lodge in Karatu.
For a well-deserved sundowner and dinner. If the sky is cloudless, you will see the starry sky of Africa and “The Southern Cross”

ResetThe crater is the main attraction of the Ngorongoro Nature Reserve and is often referred to as the “eighth wonder of the world”. It is 610 meters deep and covers an area of about 260 square kilometers. The crater basin is the habitat of about 30,000 animals all year round. These include the so-called Big Five (lion, elephant, leopard, buffalo, and rhinoceros) and many other species, except giraffes. It is also known as the largest zoo in the world.
After an early breakfast, we make our way to the crater. Only a short journey and we reach the still foggy, somewhat mystical Ngorongoro Highlands and drive down to the crater floor.
Today you will marvel at the impressive landscape and look out for the Big Five.
After a lunch break at Lake Magadi, a soda lake in the crater, during which you will enjoy the contents of your lunch box and watch the flamingos on the shore foraging, we will continue the game drive.
In the late afternoon, you will return to your Karatu lodge.

ResetManyara National Park in northern Tanzania covers an area of around 330 square kilometers against the backdrop of the East African Rift Valley and is known for its evergreen acacia forests, ancient baobab trees of impressive size, grass savannahs, and, of course, the alkaline lake of Manyara, which is the main attraction of the park.
The park is a habitat for elephants, lions, leopards, zebras, wildebeests, and more than 400 species of birds. Among them are pink flamingos, which can be seen in large numbers on the lakeshore. A special attraction is tree-climbing lions; a unique phenomenon that can only be observed in this park. However, you will find that wildlife is less present in the park than in other national parks in the north of the country. This is where your ability to observe, search, and find is required. With a little spirit of discovery, you can spot the park’s animals in the green of the forests. Your guide will certainly pay you a visit to the “Hippo Pool”. Before you see the impressive natural spectacle of the hippos frolicking, you will smell that you are close to your destination. A safari is an experience for all the senses.
