Meet your Tourias Pride guide on arrival and transfer to a comfortable city hotel for a relaxed start. As you overland toward Arusha, get your first feel for northern Tanzania—roadside markets, views of Mt. Meru on a clear day, and everyday life along the highway. On check-in, unwind by the pool or garden and let the travel fade while your guide reviews the route, park highlights, and optimal daily timings tailored to the season.
This gentle first evening helps you acclimatize before long but rewarding game-viewing days. Settle in, enjoy dinner, and rest up for tomorrow’s departure toward the Rift Valley.
Depart after breakfast toward Mto wa Mbu for a cultural flavor—rice and banana plots, smallholder farms, and optional short cycling or coffee-making activities. Break for a hot local lunch before entering Lake Manyara National Park, a compact gem with evergreen forest giving way to acacia woodland and open lakeshore.
Work the forest tracks and shoreline for elephants, hippos, blue monkeys, abundant birdlife, and—if luck strikes—tree-climbing lions lounging in fig branches. By late afternoon, continue to your Karatu lodge to relax before dinner.
Climb through the Ngorongoro highlands, then descend onto the endless Serengeti plains. Game-drive en route toward Seronera—year-round big-cat territory where river lines, acacias, and granite kopjes attract predators and herds. Wake before dawn for golden-hour viewing when predators patrol and herbivores move to new grazing. Work the river circuits and kopje systems, scanning for lions warming on granite slabs, cheetah coursing the short-grass, and elephants drifting to water.
