The Serengeti migration is a famous event in Tanzania where millions of animals, like wildebeests, zebras, and gazelles, travel together in search of fresh grass and water. They move in a big circle every year through the Serengeti in Tanzania and the Maasai Mara in Kenya. This journey is very long and dangerous because the animals have to cross rivers filled with hungry crocodiles and face lions and other predators along the way. Migration is one of the most amazing natural events in the world, and many people visit Africa to see it.

Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, after clearing immigration and customs protocols, our driver-guide will be waiting at the arrival gate, holding a banner with your names. After the meet and greet, your driver will escort you to the vehicle and load your luggage accordingly. You will drive to the Lodge near Tarangire for an overnight stay at Lake Burunge Tented Lodge.

Breakfast will be served at the Lodge; you will depart for Tarangire National Park for a half-day game viewing. Packed lunch will be served at a picnic site. 0300pm is the time to leave the park for Maasai Boma in Manyara for a few hours of learning about Maasai culture. After the Tour, you will proceed to drive to Karatu for an Overnight Stay at Farm House Valley.

Carry a hot picnic as we angle into Serengeti National Park. Kopjes rise like islands; figged river lines hint at leopard; prides rest on warm granite as the day builds. We keep speeds modest and eyes on the sign—dust on a ridge, a vulture spiral, the hush in gazelles that says “wait here.”
By late light, settle into Serengeti Kati Kati Tented Camp for your overnight stay

After breakfast, just around 7:00 am, Angle north across the kopje belts and river lines for big-cat chances en route. As plains give way to the Mara River, we check primary bends for herd traffic and crocodile positions. We favor clean angles over crowds and keep respectful spacing so the river has room to tell its story.
Lunch lands hot in the field near a shaded vantage. If activity builds, we hold the post rather than chase mileage. By mid-afternoon, we run an arrival loop along the river, then settle into Mara Under Canvas Check-in covers tent briefing, laundry timings, Wi-Fi details, and tomorrow’s plan—either an early river session or a scout loop, depending on overnight sign.

Camp pick-up: 06:30 with flasks and pastries. Take a patient vantage above a likely Mara River entry, guided by fresh tracks, vulture spirals, and whispers from our scout network. Herds may stack on the banks—listening, testing, swiveling—then surge; or they may mill for hours. We hold clean, respectful positions and never press approach paths, so behavior stays natural and photos stay clean.
A mid-morning loop checks secondary bends and hippo pools; if sign spikes, we return to our primary post. Hot lunch is served at a shaded pull-off with coffee, then we ride the afternoon light. Optional: Hot-Air Balloon – $540 pp (pre-dawn, seasonal). Return to Mara Under Canvas by dusk for showers, dinner, and a relaxed image review.

Camp pick-up: 07:30. Work one last river loop for dawn behavior, then ease south with a hot picnic to Central Serengeti. Resident cats and kopje systems make Seronera reliable; we read wind and light to keep scenes composed and animals comfortable, returning to promising signs if it builds.
Lunch lands around 12:30–13:00 at a shaded pullover with coffee refills. The afternoon works river loops, hippo pools, and short-grass mounds where cheetahs scan. By late light, we reach Serengeti Kati Kati Camp. Orientation confirms wake-up call, breakfast slot, and pick-up at reception tomorrow for the Ngorongoro run. After a Full Board dinner, pack an easy day-bag: hat, layer, sunscreen, and spare batteries—the crater compresses subjects beautifully.

Camp pick-up: 06:00. Drive to the Ngorongoro highlands and descend into the Ngorongoro Crater just after first light. Marsh, grass, and woodland compress East Africa’s coast into one amphitheater: lions near tracks, old bull elephants in swamps, huge buffalo herds, hippo pools, and—with luck—a distant black rhino along the fringe. We prioritize behavior and soft angles, keeping respectful spacing for calm viewing.
After having a descent game drive, we drive to Ngorongoro Farmhouse for your relaxation

Lodge pick-up: 08:30. If you wish, step into a curated Maasai visit—stories, song, and daily life (beadwork, milking)—handled with respect and time for questions. Then continue toward Arusha. Bags remain secure in-vehicle while you enjoy a cheerful, hosted hot lunch at a trusted in-town restaurant/coffee lodge. This is the moment to trade favorite sightings, review images, and (if flight times allow) make a brief, curated craft stop.
After lunch, continue privately to JRO with comfortable buffers for check-in and formalities. Your driver helps with luggage and farewells at the terminal forecourt. Asante sana—may the hush between sightings and the warmth of these days travel home with you.
