Your exclusive “Great Migration” safari begins in Tarangire National Park, home to the country’s largest elephant population. The highlight of this safari is undoubtedly your visit to the Serengeti. Already on your way there you will have countless opportunities for exciting wildlife and impressive nature observations. After a stopover in the Central Serengeti, we make our way north the next morning. To the Mara area. In the dry season from June to September, up to 2 million wildebeest and about 750,000 zebras gather on the banks of the Mara River to plunge into the floods at the risk of their lives. There is no other way to continue the long journey to the South Serengeti. The bravest and strongest animals are the first to dare to cross the river – knowing full well that crocodiles are waiting for them there. It is a highlight of any safari to see the huge herds battling the tides, and the crocodiles fighting before they reach the opposite shore, exhausted. Where lions and hyenas are already lying in wait.
During a game drive in the Ngorongoro Crater, you will then look out for the “Big Five” at the end of your safari, which you have not yet seen in front of your lens.

ResetTarangire is Tanzania’s fifth-largest national park on the edge of the Great Rift Valley. The landscape consists of low hills with sparse acacia forests, huge baobab trees, and savannah grasslands. The Tarangire River is the main water source of the park and is ideal for wildlife viewing of all kinds. Herds of wildebeest, buffalo, elephant, zebra, giraffe, hippos, and many antelopes are waiting to be photographed by you. You might even get the well-camouflaged leopard in front of your lens with luck and good eyes. After an early breakfast, you will spend the whole day in Tarangire on a game drive.
We use the Tarangire as a stopover on your way to the Serengeti. Here you will get first impressions of the varied landscapes on your safari and the abundance of African wildlife. At lunchtime, we drive to a picnic area and enjoy the contents of our lunch box. Don’t let the cute little monkeys steal your food while you let your gaze wander over the impressive landscape. After our game drive in Tarangire, we are already preparing for tomorrow’s destination, the Serengeti. Therefore, we will reach your accommodation in Karatu today, probably in the early evening.

ResetThe Serengeti is a vast and impressive expanse of grasslands, savannahs, and forests that is home to one of the world’s greatest natural spectacles. The Serengeti is famous for its annual great migration, with millions of wildebeest and other herbivores crossing the plains in search of fresh grazing land. It offers safari enthusiasts a front-row seat to this unique natural phenomenon. A safari in the Serengeti promises an unforgettable adventure, allowing visitors to experience the untamed beauty of the African wilderness up close and personal that they would not expect.
The journey to the Serengeti takes place from Karatu over forested heights in the Ngorongoro Highlands. We follow the crater rim to a viewpoint where you can take your first photos of the crater. Our destination today is the Central Serengeti. On game drives in the Serengeti, you will get closer to African wildlife than in any zoo in the world. Breathtaking encounters await you at the hippo pool.

ResetToday we make our way early to the North Serengeti to witness an unforgettable spectacle, the “Great Migration”. Every year, from June to September, over a million wildebeest and about 750,000 zebra gather on the banks of the Mara River to embark on an 800 km journey. ResetThe crater is the main attraction of the Ngorongoro Nature Reserve and is often referred to as the “eighth wonder of the world”. The crater basin is the habitat of about 25,000 animals all year round. These include the so-called Big Five (lion, elephant, leopard, buffalo, and rhinoceros) and many other species, except giraffes. The nature reserve is home to the Olduvai Gorge, an important paleoanthropological site where the remains of some of the earliest human ancestors have been found. This is why this area is also called “The Cradle of Humankind”.
Be prepared to get up early this morning. At dawn, we will leave the Serengeti for the Ngorongoro Crater. Getting up early for your morning game drive will be rewarded with lions and other nocturnal prey hunters that you will see as they return from their long night of hunting. In the morning you will explore the wildlife of the crater on a game drive and hopefully have the opportunity to photograph black rhinos. After a lunch break at Lake Magadi, a soda lake in the crater, during which you will enjoy your hot lunch one last time and watch the flamingos on the shore foraging, we will make our way back to Arusha.
