Upon your arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), you will be greeted by your Safari Under the Sky guide. Without delay, you will embark on your journey directly to Tarangire National Park. After checking into your lodge and enjoying lunch, you will head out for an afternoon game drive. Tarangire is renowned for its impressive populations of elephants and its dramatic landscape dotted with centuries-old baobab trees. The Tarangire River attracts a dense concentration of wildlife, offering excellent viewing of buffalo, giraffe, and various antelope. You’ll return to the lodge as the sun sets, marking the perfect start to your safari.

Today is dedicated to cultural discovery. After an early breakfast, you will visit a Maasai Boma to learn about the traditions and daily life of one of East Africa’s most iconic tribes. Following this, you’ll explore the lively village of Mto wa Mbu, taking a guided walk through its lush banana and rice plantations and interacting with locals from many different tribes. A hot local lunch provides a taste of authentic Tanzanian cuisine. In the afternoon, you’ll proceed to Lake Manyara National Park for a game drive, searching for its famous tree-climbing lions and large flocks of flamingos on the alkaline lake.

After breakfast, you begin your scenic drive to the legendary Serengeti National Park. The route takes you through the verdant highlands of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, with chances of spotting wildlife along the way. Upon entering the Serengeti, you’ll be greeted by the iconic endless plains. You will arrive at your camp in time for lunch and some relaxation. In the mid-afternoon, you can choose to embark on your first Serengeti game drive or enjoy some leisure time at the camp, perhaps later sharing stories around the campfire before dinner.

A full day awaits you to immerse yourself in the wonders of the Serengeti. An optional hot-air balloon safari at dawn offers a breathtaking aerial perspective. Your morning game drive will explore the diverse habitats of the park, from open grasslands to the iconic granite kopjes, which serve as shelter for lions and leopards. After returning to camp for a hearty lunch, you will venture out again for an afternoon of wildlife viewing. You’ll have an early start for the drive to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Descending 600 meters into the Ngorongoro Crater is a breathtaking experience. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is a natural amphitheater hosting an astonishing concentration of animals, including the rare black rhino, lions, elephants, and flamingos on Lake Magadi. You will enjoy a full morning of game driving on the crater floor, followed by a picnic lunch.
