Day 1:

Arusha

Upon landing at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), you will be met by your Safari Under the Sky guide for the approximately one-hour transfer to your hotel in Arusha. Depending on your arrival time, you may receive a tour briefing today or tomorrow morning. The rest of the day is free for you to relax at the hotel, unwind from your travels, and prepare for the adventure ahead.

Day 2: Lake Manyara National Park

After breakfast, you’ll journey to Tarangire National Park, renowned for its large elephant herds and ancient baobab trees. The Tarangire River attracts a high density of wildlife, making for excellent game viewing. You’ll spend the full day searching for buffalo, antelope, giraffes, and with luck, predators like lions and leopards.
A picnic lunch will be served at a designated site within the park. In the late afternoon, you’ll enjoy a beautiful sunset view as you drive to your lodge for the evening.

Day 3: Lake Manyara National Park

Your day begins with a cultural immersion in Mto wa Mbu, a vibrant village home to many different tribes. You’ll take a guided walk through banana and rice plantations, meeting locals and learning about daily life. A highlight is a lunch of authentic Tanzanian dishes in the village.

In the afternoon, you’ll head to Lake Manyara National Park, famous for its tree-climbing lions and large flocks of flamingos on its alkaline lake. The park offers stunning scenery against the Rift Valley escarpment and diverse wildlife, including hippos, giraffes, and zebras.

Day 4: Serengeti

In the afternoon, you embark on your first game drive on the endless Serengeti plains. This ecosystem is known for its high concentration of wildlife and is the stage for the phenomenal Great Migration (season-dependent). You’ll return to the lodge as the sun sets.

Day 5: Serengeti

Today is fully dedicated to exploring the Serengeti. You have the option to start with a breathtaking hot air balloon ride over the plains at dawn (extra cost). After breakfast, your guide will lead you on a full-day game drive, tracking wildlife and seeking out the best viewing spots.

You’ll return to camp for lunch and relaxation before heading out again for an afternoon drive. Search for the Big Five, cheetahs, hyenas, and countless other species before enjoying another spectacular Serengeti sunset.

Day 6: Ngorongoro Crater

You’ll have an early start for the drive to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Descending 600 meters into the Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is a breathtaking experience. The crater floor hosts an incredible density of animals, including the rare black rhino.

You’ll enjoy a full morning of game driving in this natural amphitheater, with a picnic lunch by the hippo pool. In the afternoon, you’ll ascend the crater rim and drive to your lodge in Karatu for a relaxing evening.

Day 7: Arusha

Upon arrival in Arusha, you will have lunch and some time to rest before your scheduled transfer to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your departure flight, marking the end of your wildlife and cultural experience.

  • If booking is made within 60 days of departure, full payment is due immediately.

  • Reservations are not secured until the deposit is received.
