After an early breakfast at your hotel in Arusha, you will meet your guide and embark on the scenic drive towards the legendary Serengeti National Park. The journey takes you through the highlands and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, offering stunning vistas. Upon entering the Serengeti, you will immediately begin your first game drive in this vast ecosystem, renowned for its immense herds and high density of predators. The afternoon is dedicated to exploring the central Seronera region, a wildlife-rich area. As the sun sets, you will head to your designated camp or lodge within the park for dinner and your first night under the African sky.
This entire day is devoted to exploring the endless horizons of the Serengeti. You may start with an early morning game drive when animals are most active. Your guide will tailor the day’s route, potentially following the tracks of the Great Migration (dependent on season) or seeking out resident prides of lions, leopards, and cheetahs. You will enjoy a picnic lunch at a designated site within the park. The afternoon offers another opportunity for game viewing in different sectors before returning to your accommodation to relive the day’s sightings.
After a final morning game drive or a leisurely breakfast in the Serengeti, you will begin your journey towards the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. The drive itself is picturesque, crossing the plains and ascending onto the crater’s forested rim. You will arrive at your lodge or camp on the crater rim in time for lunch, with the afternoon free to relax and enjoy the breathtaking views from the edge of this natural wonder. This provides a tranquil interlude and a chance to prepare for the grand finale of your safari tomorrow.
After an early breakfast, you will descend 600 meters into the Ngorongoro Crater, one of the Seven Natural Wonders of Africa. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is a self-contained ecosystem teeming with wildlife, including the rare black rhino, lions, elephants, and flocks of flamingos on Lake Magadi. You will enjoy a full morning of game driving on the crater floor, followed by a picnic lunch by the Hippo Pool.
