Famous for its annual great migration, with millions of wildebeest and other herbivores crossing the plains in search of fresh grazing land, the Serengeti offers safari enthusiasts a front-row seat to this extraordinary natural phenomenon. Whether camping under the stars or staying in luxury lodges, a safari in the Serengeti promises an unforgettable adventure where visitors experience the untamed beauty of the African wilderness up close and personal that you wouldn’t expect.

On the edge of the southern Serengeti is the Ndutu Plain. This part of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area is one of the best places to spot predators, enjoy the unique landscape of giant acacia trees, and panoramic views of Lake Ndutu and Lake Masek

The Ndutu area with its plains, lakes and swamps is the habitat of giraffes, impalas, dikdiks, lions, hyenas, cheetahs, hyenas, bat-eared foxes, genets, jackals and hundreds of species of exotic birds.

The best time to visit the Ndutu Plain begins at the end of December, when the herds of the Great Migration gradually arrive from the north to give birth to the offspring. During this calving season, which peaks around February, thousands of calves are born every day.

Getting up early for your morning game drive will be rewarded with lions and other nocturnal prey hunters returning from their long night of hunting. For lunch, you are already on the floor of the crater. You will spend the rest of the day in the Ngorongoro Crater “hunting” the Big Five with your cameras. Day 6: Lake Manyara National Park

A special attraction is tree-climbing lions; a unique phenomenon that can only be observed in this park. Nevertheless, you will find that wildlife is less present than in parks like the Serengeti. Here your ability to observe, search, and find is required. With a little spirit of discovery, you can spot the animals of the park in the green of the forests.

Return to Arusha in the afternoon. Your driver will make sure you catch your flight home or connecting flight to Zanzibar
