A Tanzania wildlife safari is an exciting trip where you can see lots of amazing animals in their natural homes. You can visit famous parks like Serengeti, where you can watch the Great Migration. This is when huge groups of animals like wildebeests, zebras, and gazelles move across the land.
Another great place is the Ngorongoro Crater, which has lots of animals like lions, elephants, buffalo, leopards, and rhinos. Tarangire National Park is known for its large groups of elephants and big baobab trees, while Lake Manyara is famous for its many birds and lions that sometimes climb trees.

ResetYou’ll be impressed with Tarangire National Park. Most visitors love the distinct shapes of the baobab trees silhouetted against the sky making this place feel like a fairy-tale African landscape. Or visitors remember the elephants that roam in family bands everywhere throughout the park. If you’re lucky, you’ll also encounter the big cats –lions especially, but also cheetahs and leopards – that are always a possibility here. And there’s a fair degree of certainty that you will tick wildebeest, giraffe, hippo, buffalo, and zebra off your wildlife viewing list.

ResetLake Manyara National Park will allow you to tick off so many unique safari highlights, including many that you just won’t find elsewhere. Unlike the elephants you’ll see in other parks, Lake Manyara inhabits dense forest – there’s nothing quite like your experience of an elephant suddenly emerging from behind the nearest tree. Also, you’re just as likely to see lions here draped along a branch high in a tree as down on the ground. And baboons. Lots of baboons. The views you’ll see here, too, persist in your memory long after you’ve returned home, thanks to the combination of lake, forest, and sheer cliffs, all within just a few kilometers.

ResetWhen you explore Ndutu, you’ll feel like you’re getting all that the Serengeti has to offer, but there will be far fewer vehicles to block your view. This is one of northern Tanzania’s best-kept secrets, easily accessible from both the Serengeti and Ngorongoro, and yet nicely off the main road between these more popular destinations. Ndutu is particularly good for wildlife when the great migration passes through, but there are plenty of animals to see here, framed against the vast horizon, at any time of the year. It’s especially good for big cats.

ResetYou won’t find many better national parks in Africa than the Serengeti, which has few rivals when it comes to both the
numbers and variety of animals. Track down the annual migration of wildebeest and zebra. Enjoy the vast horizons
that are perfect for spotting predators (especially lions, leopards, cheetahs, and spotted hyenas) and their prey (buffaloes, impalas, and kongoni), as well as elephants and giraffes. If you’re really lucky you’ll see a hunt, one of the
most exhilarating sights anywhere in the wild. And at every turn, revel in its beauty, with flat-topped acacia trees
silhouetted against the setting sun, and so many other classic African safari images.

ResetYour first sight of Ngorongoro Crater is likely not one you’ll easily forget. As seen from the crater rim, this natural bowl,
both vast and intimate, is one of Africa’s most beautiful natural features, stretching 19 green kilometers (12 miles)
from one side to the other. Down in the crater itself, you’ll explore an astonishingly rich, self-contained ecosystem that
is protected by high crater walls. Here, lions and hyenas hunt wildebeest and Grant’s gazelle within sight of elephants and black rhinos. Your day spent here will reveal a surprising variety of habitats, from the Lereal Forest and salty Lake
Magadi to the plains that rise and fall gently all across the valley floor.
