On your safari to the Central and Western Serengeti, you’ll witness exciting and memorable predator-prey interactions during the annual spectacle of the Great Migration. You’ll encounter African wildlife in a closeness you wouldn’t expect. Closer than in any zoo in the world. In the Serengeti, television images and clichés become reality. On the way to the Serengeti, you will make a stopover in a Maasai village. You will be greeted with the famous jumping dances of the young warriors and singing.
In the Ngorongoro Crater, the famous Big Five are waiting for you. Nowhere in Africa is the probability of seeing the “Big Five” (elephant, lion, rhino, leopard, and buffalo) greater than here.
At Lake Eyasi you will visit the Hadzabe Bushmen, one of the last remaining groups of hunter-gatherers in Africa. Even today, they use bows and arrows for hunting.

Today we welcome you at Kilimanjaro Airport (JRO) or Arusha Airport (ARK). We will discuss your travel plans and answer your questions over a cup of original Tanzanian Arabica coffee or a cool refreshment. After that, your safari will begin. Today’s destination is Karatu. Where you will spend the night at Ngorongoro Marera Mountain View Lodge. Located in the green Marera valley just before Karatu village. The journey takes about 2 hours. From your window seat, you can relax and enjoy the view of the passing landscape and the many small villages and markets along the road.

ResetSerengeti is the main wildlife ecosystem for wildebeest migration, migrating from the southern plains of the Serengeti and Ngorongoro Nature Reserve to the northern Maasai Mara in search of grazing land and water. It is home to predators such as cheetahs, jackals, hyenas, and lions, while along the rivers is the territory of hippos, crocodiles, and leopards. Large herds of elephants, buffaloes, zebras, giraffes, wildebeest, gazelles, impalas, and hartebeest, populate the landscape.
After enjoying your tea or coffee in the early morning, we take a short drive to the Ngorongoro highlands and follow the road to the Serengeti National Park. On our way, you will have the opportunity to visit a Maasai village. A visit to a Maasai Boma is a cultural highlight of your safari and is as much a part of Tanzania as lions and elephants. During our visit, the host will welcome you and greet you with the traditional jumping dances of the young warriors and the common singing of villagers. The Maasai will be happy to answer your questions about their culture and their everyday life. This will give you an insight into the customs and way of life of the people between mud huts and iPhones.

ResetThe Ngorongoro Crater in the Ngorongoro Nature Reserve is a volcanic caldera inhabited by a variety of wildlife species. The crater is 610 m deep, and is home to over 30,000 large animals. Ngorongoro is an iconic unique place to see rare black rhinos, as well as other species such as lions, cheetahs, hyenas, serval cats, zebras, gazelles, wildebeest, hippos, buffaloes, elephants, monkeys and bird species such as crowned cranes, eagle pelicans, and flamingos.
This morning you enjoyed a breathtaking sunrise in the Serengeti. We leave the Serengeti with a game drive and make our way to the Ngorongoro Sanctuary. When we arrive at the Ngorongoro crater, you might notice that no giraffes are living there, instead, with a bit of luck, you will have the opportunity to take photos of the rare black rhinos. In the late afternoon, arrive back at your accommodation in Karatu for dinner and overnight.

ResetA visit to a Hadzabe village begins before sunrise. They watch the hunters as they demonstrate their hunting techniques and practices with which they attract and kill their prey. The Hadzabe are an indigenous ethnic group of about 2,000 people in Tanzania. They are one of the last remaining groups of hunter-gatherers in Africa and have lived in the region for thousands of years. They have their language, which is similar to that of the Kalahari Bushmen with its click sounds but is not related to it. The Hadzabe people are known for their traditional hunting and gathering practices. Tools such as bows, arrows, and digging sticks are still used today. They collect honey, berries, and other wild fruits and nuts. Unfortunately, your safari adventure in Tanzania comes to an end with a visit to the Hadzabe on Lake Eyasi. After a last warm lunch in the bush, we make our way back to Arusha. Your safari guide will make sure you catch your flight home or your connecting flight to Zanzibar on time
